Reverend Dr. Clifford I. Johnson has served as pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church since March 1997. Rev. Dr. Johnson brings to Shiloh Baptist Church and the Wilmington Community more that 26 years of pastoral experience. He has proven to be an effective teacher, communicator, preacher, community leader and builder. His educational training includes the following: a Bachelor's Degree from Adelphi University, a Master's Degree in Divinity from New York Theological Seminary and a Doctoral Degree from the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania.

Prior to coming to Shiloh, he served as the pastor of several Baptist churches in New York. He was honored for his work with the Inroads Program and named Manager of the Year in 1991. The Inroads Program matches promising minority college students with top corporations such as IBM and AT&T. Rev. Dr. Johnson has the distinction of being elected as a Managing Director at Marsh & McClennan, the world's largest financial and professional services firm. His many awards include the Harlem YMCA's Black Achiever in Industry Distinction, The National Insurance Industry Associations Man of the Year Award, the NAACP Religious Affairs Award, Delaware Technical and Community College African American honoree, Wilmington Urban League honoree He served as president of the Congress of Christian Education for the New York State Progressive Baptist Convention and currently serves on the teaching staff of the Progressive National Baptist Convention.

Rev. Johnson is active in many Delaware organizations including: The Interdenominational Minister's Action Council, the Wilmington Senior Center, serving on the Board of Directors, The Wilmington Housing Partnership on the Board of Directors, Co-Chairman of the Financial Stability group for the United Way of Delaware, the Marion T. Academy Charter School, where he serves as Chairman of the Board and founder, the Nehemiah Gateway Community Development Corporation, where he serves as the President/CEO and Founder. He was more recently appointed by the Governor of Delaware to serve on the Magistrate selection commission. Outside of the community He serves on the General Board of the American Baptist Convention and the MMBB Pension Board as a Director. He was recently elected as the President of National Ministries for the American Baptist Convention His work in the community continues to be most outstanding and commendable. Rev. Johnson works with numerous organizations that are dedicated to improving the quality of life for people.
